More About Mr. Lipscomb

I am a Technology Education teacher at Middletown Middle School in Middletown, Maryland.   I've been teaching at MMS since 2007 and have taught many courses here including Life Skills (gr. 6, 7, & 8), Invention and Innovation (gr. 7), Tech Expo (gr. 6), and Creative Arts (gr. 7).

Prior to coming to Middletown Middle School, I taught computer technology at Catoctin High School (in Thurmont, MD) and Business, Computer Software, and Oracle Database Management at a high school in P.G. County, Maryland.

My education includes a Master of Business Administration, MS in Human Resources Management, and a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Management from the University of Maryland.  In addition, I earned a Certificate in Professional Cooking from Baltimore International Culinary College and an Associate's Degree in Secondary Education from Prince George's Community College.

I am fully certified by the Maryland State Department of Education and hold endorsements in Business Ed., Family and Consumer Science, Technology Ed., Art, Early Childhood Ed., and Elementary Ed.

Before starting a career in teaching, I worked for a number of years in the health insurance industry as well as banking.  I've also worked in the culinary field.

Besides teaching at MMS, I also am an adjunct Professor in the School of Business at Strayer University.

In my off hours, I very much enjoy the outdoors, including hiking, fishing, gardening, etc.   I am a certified Hunter Education Instructor with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.  I've been a volunteer instructor with 4-H, a children's garden manager volunteer with the National Park Service, and was a volunteer "citizen scientist" in a research project called e-Mammal with the Smithsonian Institution.
